Tuning with a Max Bore throttle body

I've seen a couple people on here talk about them. My main question, is there any tuning changes that needed to be done to accommodate the modified stock throttle body? Any changes in drivability or response afterwards?

I believe max bore bring them up to 85.4mm, so you would need the same changes as you would if you were upgrading to a 85mm TB. You can try and drive it on the stock tune but it might not be friendliest of drives at slow speeds. Depending on how much trq error the ECM see's it may even throw you in limp mode.

Well I'm not on a stock tune, however it has been tuned with the stock throttle body. I don't know if there is any gain to be had, I know for the most part there is not much if any gain with TB's on these, but I do have the GT350 intake on mine.

I guess I will find out how it does when I put one on it.

Mine is ported and I didn't mention it during tuning and zero issues. You could always mention it to see what your tuner says.

I would think you should be fine. If you look at the bbk 85mm throttle body it doesn't require a tune. You will probably want to perform the idle relearn procedure after the ported TB is installed. I would datalog and have your tuner review it to see if changes need to be made

The car will be re-tuned when I do throw it on, but I just like to know what I'm getting into before I do it.

My tuner has already tried to convince me to leave the stock one on it lol, but it will be the last thing I can mess with beyond going FI...... and that is not likely for some time.... or if I win the lottery....
