Just been wondering this for awhile. Haven't got any real answers aside from "newer is first serve." I mean that's understandable, but there is a huge amount of us 04 and under mustangs that would love to use there Tuning software. I'm sure if they have enough people to spare a few to make up some software for our older cars.
Plus i'm surrounded by HPTuner shops and the nearest shop thats good enough to tune my 04 with my SCT is around 3-4 hrs away.

Eric does much of the development for the Ford stuff. "Not willing" isn't the best way to describe his position on EEC-V. He has been putting in effort to bring HP Tuners to the EEC-V market. However, the newer stuff takes priority - and it should.

Of course newer stuff priority, thats pretty much a hands down direction. Id be in the same direction with that choice also.
Its nice to hear a little info that someone has taken the interest to bring HPT to the EEC-V market. I believe a lot of people out there would be happy to hear they will be supported here sometime soon hopefully.

If I had hp tuners I wouldn't have to drive 3 hrs to get tuned. I'd have to drive 15 mins lol.

haha yea i feel ya man. i went to my buddies shop and spend 5 hrs there trying to get my car to communicate with the HPT software. Until my buddy called up and asked someone at HPT if my car was supported cause it was a 4.6 also. Then I had to pack up my car and limp it home in disappointment

the eec stuff is coming very very soon, its already completed

Actually best news ive hear. Ive searched so much on this topic and no one has given an answer that there is possible work being done or anything.
Do look forward to hearing more info and if theres a date possible. Might keep me from making a journey across states to get my Mach tuned.

Why do these threads always end up with just a bread crumb.
Someone always throwing out a fraction of the answer your looking for and then vanishes into thing air.

I've mapped out every EEC-V V8 Mustang from 99-2004. If you have an nGauge you can use it to read/write the vehicle, and edit the tune in VCM Editor. The current MPVI was never designed to flash this older non CAN based controller. We have something in the works that will fill the void soon.

That's good news! My tuner uses HP, and he will be getting my 99 this summer to tune the twin turbo 2v setup

I have the MPVI pro. Can i use it to log EECV? The logging feature is great on HP tuners for GM platforms.

If you need beta testers for MPVI flashing on EECV vehicles let me know, I'd like to make the jump to using solely HP on pre 2005 fords.

You can log with it, but only PIDS at the moment and the frame rate isn't as good as it will be, when we officially support EEC-V.
