I don't know if this is the right section for this question but hopefully someone can chime in. I have the Shaker 1000 amp and from my personal perspective is that there isn't enough high's or treble in it. What speakers can I get to help to give me more treble?

Not to sure of the difference between the shaker 500 and 1000 amps for signal quality but if your looking for real quality audio your most likely gonna need to replace the radio, amps and speakers.

Part of the problem with the factory stereo is that some frequencies are muted and others boosted, so even with quality speakers, it won't sound right. A sound processor is the only solution to that issue.

I would recommend replacing the 5x7 in the doors with (insert any major speaker manufacturer) and the ones the rear deck (same size). Give it a listen and go from there.
-It's going to brighten up the front speakers substantially. I'm not quite sure what ford was doing, those 8" midbass drivers are a little boomy, and the mid/highs were VERY muted from stock.

Pro Tip - Most audiophiles prefer round speakers (TLDR: Soundwaves are round) so I've opted for the 5x7 mounting plates (very cheap) that allow 6.5" components(front) or coax (rear) without any modifications.

After you do this, if you want more - go the Audiocontrol LC(whatever model)/JL Cleansweep/amp approach and we can start another conversation.

Man... I personally love the way the Shaker 500 sounds. Good bass for factory speakers and loud. Even with the top down.

I'm not sure about the Shaker systems, but I know the Mach 460/1000 were 6 ohm speakers/amps. Not your "normal" 4 ohm car audio. Replacing the speakers only leads to worse sound, amps cutting out, and blown speakers. If kept at normal listening levels, everything should work fine, it's at higher volume levels where the amp will overheat.

I had posted either a couple or a few years ago on my install ........

I retained the stock Shaker head unit & OEM amplifier(s) BUT replaced all the cheap Ford OE speakers with:

[F/R] Infiniti KAPPA 6x8 [2 / 4 Ohm stable] w/ tweeters that rotate

[Door Sub] Rockford-Fosgate Shallow 8" dual voice-coil 2-Ohm w/ half-inch MDF speaker spacer

....................................................................................................................

Also used 4-gauge wiring with a half-farad capacitor to wire in a JL Audio 500/1 sub amp with a 10" JL Audio stealthbox

I had to install an Audio-Control 2-channel high-pass processor/converter AND a JL Audio amp input control dial.

.....................................................................................................................

The sound is much clearer & crisper but the shallow eights didn't help much even though the OE door sub had two voice coils too. Wired up both voice coils, betting the RF subs are still under-powered.

Once I turned the JL Audio input dial from bottom to top, my stereo rocks!

I have easily had the volume turned up just passed the half way mark, with the doors closed & windows all the way down, sounds clear as day and like a true audiophile quality....
I normally listen to my tunes at a volume showing either 3 or 4 bars only....
