In the article they mention the LT5 has a bigger Eaton supercharger than the LT4 which was a 1.7L. I wonder if the LT5 is using a 2.3L like the GT500 or if it's using the new 2.65L Eaton just came out with. Either way a 2.3L or 2.65L will have a lot more room for HP growth than the anemic 1.7L used in LT4's. Could an LT5 with just pulley, intake, exhaust and tune be able to hit 900-1000HP??

I'm sure it'll be a performance monster, but it's styling is a little too overdone for me.

Probably the C7 swan song, before they go mid engine.

Pobst ran it at willow springs for motor trend a week or two back. It was only 100+ degrees out.

Setting the table for potential future excuses I see;)

Looks like a blowfish at the front.

Why the hell is the roof removable...

Because poseurs gotta make sure they can be seen!

Can't wait to watch it bitch slap the Ford GT and its stupid little ecojunk.

Don't bet too much money on that. If this thing is gonna be 3700+ lbs, I don't see it outperforming the GT on a track. Probably will have a hard time even from a dig. It might have a fighting chance in a roll race at highway speeds. The GT is over 400 lbs lighter. Four hundred pounds is a lot of extra weight to be throwing around.

With the latest super cars all sporting OVER 700hp.... The FGT 647 just sounds ok.... Plus Ford hasn't aloud one to be instrument tested at all... Wtf is that about? Don't get me wrong, the car is amazing... But thems the facts.

Motor Trend has done instrumented testing just recently. They said Ford still has an embargo on the GT for test numbers.

If you notice, the chief engineer, Tadge, said its more GT then track focused. Unfortunately, that means it will not compete with the GT2 RS. I am disappointed with the specs so far. I was hoping for a manual only, track focused car that weighed LESS, not 140lbs more. Still looks good though.

How much did the previous generation ZR1 and Z06 weigh?

3350 for ZR1
3130-3200 for Z06 (as the years passed the weight went up a bit)

Pretty sure DBK said the car did 137 or somewhere near it.

Edit: Found the post. It did 137 on a concrete pad.
