Hey all,

Looking for some reccomendations on suspension mods for 2012 PP GT500. I’d like to get some more performance in handling on windy roads. Looking at the Cortex Watts Link but wondering other reccomendations on some solid set ups.

My set up:

- Fays 2 Watts link
- Ford L springs
- Strange single adjustable front struts
- Viking double adjustable rear struts
- Roush rear control arms

Upgraded to 2015 Mustang Brembos and 14" rotors with stainless lines. Car is super fun to drive.

On a 2011 GT500 PP convertible

Did that watts link have to be modified to fit the convertible? All the ones I’ve looked at say there for coups only

It is a U shaped link to go over the support brace on the right side. It replaces the right side straight link and made of billet aluminum.

FAYS2 Suspension Watts Link

Shelby actually rebrands the Fays 2 Watts Link as there own. If you get the instructions from Shelby, they are the Fays 2 instructions.

If you go on Ebay, there is a non branded 'Mustang Performance Watts Link' for $599. After some research I found out it is made by American Muscle, under the SR performance brand however is discontinued. The SR perfomance watts link is a duplicate of the Fays 2, except it uses tubular metal vs the box metal for the main brace.

Wait for a 20% off sale from Ebay and you can get that Watts link for $499, ($100 off). The Fays 2 convertible link works with the Fays 2, Shelby and the SR performance watts link.

Watts link hands down best handling mod. Should have been standard equipment on the Mustang. Handling becomes more predictable rear end doesnt get loose over bumps.

Did it help with the way these convertibles feel under hard acceleration on uneven roads, where the back end feels all loose ? I’ve been tossing the idea of trading my car for an s550 because of that motion lol

Just recently had Cortex watts link and torque arm installed and OMG what a difference those two have made. No joke it makes the rear feel like and IRS, well as close to an IRS as a live axle can be. Watts link keeps everything centered and tight but the torque arm to me is the real game changer. With the weight and power these cars have the anti-squat and anti-brake dive control the torque arm gives is amazing.

Edit: Also when the tire break loose the rear end doesn't swing out, car now continues to go straight.
