I was just looking through Amazon and ran across this 2V 5.4L intake. It is ridiculously cheap. I'm sure it's made from only the finest recycled Chinese milk crates, but the reviews seem pretty good. I'm not in the market for one of these right now, but was wondering it anyone here had actually tried one?

I looked at the companies amazon page A-Premium and all their stuff seemed to have good reviews and great price.

What vehicle are you using this for? Seems like most aftermarket manifolds are in the $125 to $150 price range. I replaced the OEM one on one of my e350 Van's at 368,000 miles with a doorman piece for about $150, the brass threads were missing and it had self tapping screws into plastic for the fuel rail as well as some undrilled holes. I'm sure this is where the savings over OEM is with most of the cheaper replacements. Tasca has OEM ford still available listed under a 2014 e350 for about $200. With the time it takes to swap these, in a van anyway, I'd spend the extra 50 bucks and know it lasts over 300k miles

It was cheaper for me to buy through White bear lake with shipping on brake rotors for my ST than it was to buy them at the counter.

They wanted $90 for the rotors and I want to say it was $30 plus $30 shipping from white bear, when I asked the local dealer over the phone if they could price match at $60 he said "just buy it from them" and hung up on me.

I haven't bought a damn thing from them since.

I had to make this decision years ago. The research I did yielded that ALL of the plastic manifolds crack eventually. Mine did. I dunno if the high boost played a role with engine flex or not. But I eventually bought a P51. Problem solved.

Latest Ford revision completely removes any and all gasket groves from the plastic manifold and places them instead on the aluminum crossovers. Hot coolant passing through the ports may someday cause it to crack, but its a much more robust design.

I know because the 4.6 Explorer I owned needed a new intake as well as my Dad's 02 F150.

The cheapie amazon ones dont show if they copied Ford or if they still run the grooves in the plastic. For an Extra $60, Ill take the Ford part.

Haha. I saw that too. I picked up my gt350 manifold with injectors and hoses shipped on ebay for $550. I guess the bullitt manifold is the same part number at the gt350 so there are alot more on the market now. Moral of the story, shop around before buying anything, but always buy the best quality you can afford.

Isn't the intake the weakest part of the 4.6 as it seems everyone eventually suffers from a leaky intake.

Cheaping out on a part of this nature isn't smart IMO.

I have never understood how some dealers can run their stores so poorly. We have a few around here too that I avoid at all costs.

I guess they figure they have their market locked up. The internet and dealers like @13COBRA are nipping around the edges more and more. Warranty work is all that keeps some dealerships open.

At this point I would imagine all the factory 2V manifolds that are going to fail have been replaced or are sitting with the rest of the car in a pick-n-pull.
