I’m debating hydrodipping or wrapping some trim on my GT500.
A key to me is being able to match these pieces as many are in high wear trim areas.
So wrap has potential benefits over hydrodip, plus a friend with detailing and body work experience would like to try mine as a learning project.
To me nothing matches true CF, and hydrodip can look good, usually better than vinyl wrap.
I also know vinyl wrap has been making big improvements.
Any links appreciated to the best vinyl CF wrap!

.
I considered hydrodipping some items under my hood. After seeing tears & wear spots on several cars @ shows, I don't think it would be a good choice for high wear anything..

I’d be interested in knowing more too. I’ve gone back n forth looking at pieces wrapped in CF. I’ve opted for some things via TrueFiber & replaced whole pieces. I dunno if T.F. Has any new gt500 pieces out yet.

I went with hydrodipping for some under hood items rather than wrap. Im sure wrap can look good I just didn't have the time or patience to do it.

Thanks, once I get the car out I’ll take some pics and make a call from there.
I personally prefer the glossy CF wrap look so far with real gloss CF being best.
Anyone with pics of the CF wrap?

Are you pretty handy? You could skin them in real carbon fiber if so. Take the trim out, paint it black, then apply some epoxy. Once it's tacky, apply some 3k carbon fabric, then brush some clear epoxy on, let dry, then sand and polish to a shine. Obviously a lot more work than vinyl wrap, but the look will be so much better.

There are lots of YouTube videos of this.

This guy skins a piece of MDF to make a table. The principle is exactly the same for anything really. No need to make a mold.

Thank MinGrey I’ll watch that tonight.
Anybody that can post pics that’d be great.

I just stumbled on a video by the same guy I showed before. This is much closer to what you're trying to do. He skinned some trim items in his BMW M4. Check it out:
