Can you make a set for me? I'd pay for it.
let me ask the wife. She has been complaining that she is bored.

I used 98 Cobra stock pads with my Taurus calipers for my 98 CobraI am finishing my rear 43mm Taurus caliper install. For my install I am going to be using the larger Cobra rotors. I have installed the M-2300-M mounting brackets so positioning is correct. I had to purchase the cobra caliper bracket separate from the main body caliper to accommodate for the wider vented rotor.
I am looking at getting a set of street pads for break in and testing. Can any confirm that the standard SN95 and new edge pads (in my case will be the Cobra) are a direct fit to the Taurus. I read Mustang5L5 post #243 saying its all good. Just want to verify before I buy.

Would the brake pads in this loaded caliper set work? Seems like a great deal!
Just bought a set. Couldnt say no!If anyone hasn't bought but wanted to, this seller just discounted the price from $249.95 to $199.95. Anywhere else, I'm seeing the calipers alone at like $130 each. This is both, with pads and bolts, AND free shipping. Used calipers are almost going for this price. Great deal if anyone is thinking about it.
EDIT: just looked at completed auction, $206, $204, $242...all used without new pads/pins.
$199 is a steal!
have we gotten any test results versus 00 R brakes? Actual numbers and laps’/

my 00 R calipers we’re retired in 2014 after 8 years of tracking. Stoptech front and MM wilwood rear now.
Stopped in to see what the fuss was all about with the ats stuff. Seems like should be comparable to the R setup
I have r calipers in a box that I was going to powder coat and rebuild, so I was curious how they would compare.

the original owner of my car was my uncle who tracked the cobra it’s whole life. First 3 years was on the stock brakes and then 8 years on the R brakes then he moved to the stoptech 13”x1.25” front two piece and MM wilwood 12.7”x1.25” rear two piece floating strip on late 2014 and then tracked that setup for two years before he retired from tracking. I picked the car up last year with the BBK setup on the car ready to go.
if you can trust what he told me then this is what his data showed:
Stock brakes. 1-2 events for each set of rotors and pads equally. Hawk blue pads
cobra R brakes. 3-4 events on the rotors and pads would go around 3 events.
cobra R setup with brake ducting. 4-5 events on rotors. 4 events on pads. Hawk pads.
front and rear BBK mentioned above. 15 events on rotors and 6-7 events on pads hawk pads
From my research hawk pads are aggressive on life span but do work great. I’ve switched to raybestos which have high initial bite and perhaps not as high of a grip but the longevity is suppose to be amazing. The 20 year veterans says I’ll get an entire season on rotors and pads. Of course I’ll believe it when I see it.
Again. Source if information is from a guy that I trust. Hope this helps. I have no clue how the ats would fit into this.
If you decide to sell those, please shoot me a PM. Been searching for a set for quite sometime.
I've read your posts on the FB groups, too. Definitely trusting data and I would trust a lifelong Ford tech anytime (that's correct about your uncle, right?)
I'm hoping someone gets data on the ATS brakes, otherwise, IMHO, they're just a cosmetic upgrade to those who already have aftermarket brake kits. Not saying they're not an upgrade from stock brakes, pretty sure everyone agrees they are.
That's a good find, interesting PR. I agree, like I said, no doubt they're better than our original PBR brakes, but how much better than other aftermarket brakes? That's the question. I love the look of the 00R brakes and hope to have them on my car soon enough, but if the ATS/XTS brakes are better, and for that cheap, it would be stupid to not do them instead....for now, I'm awaiting specs, since I obviously am not in a hurry to install these.
