Hello all, my 1996 Cobra’s Tranny went out. I must of put it reverse shift too hard because now the shifter is stuck in reverse. I cannot get to go up out of gear. I need to have it towed to my local transmission shop. Any ideas on how and what type of tow truck is best suited to move the car? thanks

Do you have any room to back up? These t-45's sometimes get locked in there, but if you back up a bit and try again you will get it out. Its happened with every t-45 car ive owned at least once

I was backing out of the driveway and tried to shift up to go forward and discovered the problem. I had to drive in reverse around the block. Backed up back in the driveway and left it near the garage wall. The driveway is long. Is any solution besides a rebuild with your experience?

If you are stuck in that bad, it's a real problem. I was talking about rolling back like a few inches and being able to get it out. If you are still stuck in after a trip around the block, it's not just a little quirk of the transmission

so a rebuild is eminent? Any part upgrades that you recommend? My mechanic is doing the basic rebuild.

It needs to go to a shop, thats all I can say. I know that people here swore by The T-45 Source and their rebuilds, but I havent heard much about them since they got bought out.
