Did you read what you wrote to yourself? At 85k, i have very high expectations and im not buying this for 85k. Sorry

It seems to me that you have $142,000 and $107,000 expectations for an $85,000 car. I mean....seriously, what kind of person compares a car that costs 20 to 40% less than others? That's completely unrealistic.

No awd, no care. And it’s foolish to think people looking at an $85k (starting price) ct5v blackwing, won’t be cross shopping e63amgs, m5’s, or rs7’s. I was, when I bought my rs7.

All of those cars are at least $18,000 to $30,000 more expensive than the CT5-VB.

Your logic is flawed and it shows with the choice you made given the vehicles you listed. You literally picked the heaviest, least reliable, slowest, most expensive car of the ones you listed.

This would be much cooler and better with a turbo v6 in it.

I was still holding out for the 4.0 V8 TT...Big disappointment.

Back end looks like a Subaru. Awfully plain and underwhelming power for the price point. Makes the Charger look more appealing from that standpoint. But I'll reserve final judgement until I see what it can do with mods. That sure changed my perspective on the ATS-V.

The styling of the Audi won me over. And at the time I bought it, it was faster than both the beemer and merc with a tune (which I knew was as far as I was going with the car—I have a gtr I can race all day, so this is not my only fast car). If you can write a check for an $85k car, then for many people, $120+ isn’t an issue. Think I paid $125k for my Audi with every carbon fiber option. And ironically, I traded a ‘11 ctsv for it.

And anyone buying a new car in this category, probably doesn’t care about reliability. The car is long gone before that becomes an issue. I’ve held on to mine a bit longer, but at 30k miles, it’s only needed oil changes

I'm currently cross shopping a Honda Accord and a Hellcat Charger. LMFAO
(Not seriously, but that's how foolish that shit sounds. I agree with you.)

Update: A Cadillac representative confirmed to Motor1.com that pricing for a fully configured CT5-V Blackwing is $125,980. The most expensive CT4-V Blackwing costs $87,775. These prices are slightly higher than the unconfirmed figures previously reported by Cadillac Society. Both prices include destination charges. At this time, a complete breakdown of options from Cadillac is unavailable.

100%. I shopped CTS-V and RS and landed on M5C. BMW...you only pay for tires for 50k miles. Everything is included. It will be long gone before the warranty is up. I paid out the nose for maintenance and repairs not covered by the warranty somehow on my 16 Z06...thousands...and every time I get the notion to buy a CTS-V, that's what I think about. Plus, the M5C is just way faster.

Except they are cross shopped regularly and pitted against each other by most outlets which review cars. The price point is relative pending on options and not as drastic a difference as you are outlining. The people that are buying around the 100k price point likely are phased by 10-15k either way.

much different comparison. The people buying an M5, E63s, CTSV all have in common that they are buying a 4 door luxury performance sedan.

an accord isn’t any of that, and a charger is a basic performance sedan with significantly less quality.

Thanks. You just made my point for me even more so. lol I would HOPE that the M5, E63 are a better build quality than the Cadillac. The German cars are A LOT more money than the Cadillac? Not positive, but I think they are. I know for a fact that the M5 is. Starts at over 100K, before loading it up. Not sure about the MB car though.

Hellcat Charger = one of the best looking cars on the road today. From ANY angle. Oh, and stupid fast. I really would LOVE to order one someday. Probably not gonna happen, but we'll see.

The gap in quality between the charger and the ct5V is likely much greater than the gap between the CT5V and the M5 and E63s.

Cadillac obviously knows they aren’t exactly on the same level and as such their starting price is much less but the options add up quick and it’s much different then what the charger ever was or meant to be intended for. They both appeal to different demographics of buyers as well.

As far as the charger, I love them and they are budget friendly with stupid power, but short of drag radials good luck getting it to hook on the street. That said I still debate them but if I’m going to dump my truck and go into a singular vehicle I need more versatility and currently the two cars that truly pile my interest for that are the E63s and the RS6 avant.
