Looking to install an ice box on my 2011. Wondering if anyone has used Moroso’s “the tank” large coolant reservoir / ice box and if it benefited temps significantly ? Or if anyone has suggestions that’s not a KC. Thanks

Anything that can lower intercooler coolant temps is going to be a benefit, but that reservoir will need constant ice refills, so it's not that practical unless you're drag racing and have a means to add ice before it melts and reaches ambient. Without ice, it's just a big holding tank for hot coolant. If I wanted additional coolant capacity, I'd look for a bigger heat exchanger. Here are some other cheapo tips using what you've got for street applications. You can do better, but it won't be cheap.

I'm not saying the Moroso tank isn't a nice piece, just passing on my experience with a larger reservoir and general observations regarding ice stored in hot surroundings. One benefit the tank has over Ford reservoirs is larger inlet and outlet diameters that will restrict flow. They just aren't only the only restrictions throughout the stock intercooler system.

Thanks for the link brother. I’m going to sit down and dig into that after work. I’m trying to bulletproof on a budget. Right now I’m only running a 170° thermostat and a Afco dual pass on e85.
