Maybe it should've ALL been over Y2K...considering the vast change since then. We just woke up 01/01/2000 surprised to still be here...but think/look what's happened since.

One thing is for sure. We can't possibly predict where technology will lead us. Will it lead to mankind killing itself through ever-improving nuclear weapons? Will it be some AI system that nukes mankind from the face of the Earth, or will that AI system save us all in some way?

Technology is expanding at an ever-increasing pace. In the 1960's a handheld 4" x 6" transistor radio had like 4 transistors in it and it was revolutionary. As of today, through IC technology breakthroughs, your Iphone has somewhere around 15 billion transistors in it's processor.

Just think what another 60 years may bring. Wars fought purely with nano-tech robotics. Medical innovations using that same nano-tech, allowing people to live much longer lives. World leaders that were previously untouchable because of their security details could be eliminated at the click of a mouse using that technology.

Self-learning AI computer systems will be so fast that they can do calculations that would take hundreds of years by today's standards, in a matter of seconds. That all leads to more and more breakthroughs..

It will be a thorough mix of good and evil along the way. That much we can predict.

IDGAF. I won't be alive to find out, so I am not going to give it a second thought.

No kids I assume?

I have 1 but 6 nieces and nephews (and dozens of little cousins) and I definitely want the world to be livable enough for them to have the opportunity to build an enjoyable life

Unfortunately the way we are going this country is more divided than ever and the lunatic leftists are slowly gaining traction in getting society to accept their insane beliefs.
