Hey what's up everyone hope all is well with you. I'm shopping for a wideband kit and see that most are single sensor kits but there are a coyppe that offer dual sensors. I would imagine the dual sensor kits are best and most accurately read each cylinder bank. What are you running?

It really comes down to how much info you want to watch. 99% run a single wideband with no real issue. I suppose it would be good to watch for injector issues bank to bank.

I currently run dual widebands, but that's because I have the stand alone and it can adjust bank to bank. If I was still on the stock ECU I'd probably still be running the single PLX I had forever. It never gave me issues.

I run a dynocom a/fm2 wideband. It’s not pretty looking compared to other widebands but I use it integrated with binary editor to tune.

I'm one of the MS3 PNP fan boys. I've been running it since it was released for our cars. I tune it myself. Before this I was using SCT with my stock ECU.
I want to jump on board the MS3 wagon but I'm not comfortable tuning my self and I asked my tuner if he was familiar with it and he said no and recommended me buy a holley system. I have asked around in search for a local tuner [socal] but haven't been successful. I think I will have to buy the sct x4 for now once I gather the funds for the next stage of upgrades [ standalone, cams, pistons] I will jump on board. I even went on to their forums and posted a thread asking to hire someone to remote tune me but got no reply.

For this dynocom you have to purchase a separate guage correct? Do they have the option for 2 sensors?

I personally use Ballanger Motorsport Wideband. No need for two with factory ecu. If you are worried about it log your STFT and compare.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I will be going with the dual sensor kit. I planned on going with a sctx4 then decided I wanted the one with the big display but after looking into it and all other programmers i see they do not allow the modification of any emission related parameters. Is this true? Not even on a custom dyno tune by a experienced tuner? What is everyone running for their Tuning hardware/ software?

That works for part throttle, but not for WOT. If you log the STFT all it will show is the commanded A/F at WOT. It won't show actual A/F. Mine can be about half a point different bank to bank at WOT. But neither bank is less than 11.5 so I don't worry about it.

You'll probably need something like Binary Editor to mess with that stuff. I think all the emission stuff in my Pro Racer Package was taken out. I haven't looked in awhile.

How has your experience been with this kit so far?
Not bad but a little finicky. There is the gauge with a controller and separate LC2 that runs so pay attention to proper grounding or chase your tail.

Imho question one it what is your purpose?
Says Cali, trying to actually pass emissions?

Thanks for sharing your experience and taking the time to reply, my reason for wanting the widebands is for just for monitoring the engines health, to prevent any damage to the engine when running be it either at the track or on tne street. A little history about my car and i is that a few years ago when doing WOT high speed runs i caused damage to the engine that made it undruveable ( no crank no start ) so i have not driven the car for several years and would like to prevent having it down in the future again. I still am not sure what caused the damage, might have been a failing Alternator and caused a lean condition, or possibly heated up the pistons and caused swelling and so forth. So i was able to get my hands on a ford reman engine and will be swapping that in along with some other goodies such as clutch and bolt ons. I did not amd still do not have any aftermarket guages to be able to monitor how the car is running. I had the car tuned by a reputable local tuner on a dyno, the car is tuned with a SCTX2, since i am getting close to the point of having everything i want to have the swap done i just thought a newer programmer would have its benefits over the X2. I am in cali but not worried about passing emissions as I have a way around that. The car will have a new engine (reman) long tube headers, off road h pipe and cat back exhaust, gen 5 whipple and e85 with a fore fuel system. The engine currently innthe car will be taken out and i have it rebuilt with higher compression pistons and cams in the future. So my concerns are for when i get everything swapped/ installed, i will have it towed to the dyno amd when getting it tuned ( if using a newer programmer like the x4) would my tuner have a issues when on the dyno a.nd tuning because of the lack of emissions parameters these new programmers are able to adjust. I hope that made sense, as I just woke up and am half asleep still hahaha
