The big structures that protect it. You probably don't remember when that bridge got smacked.

I don't even know what bridge is in question and where it's at. East coast structures and stuff like that is a complete unknown over here except for the really well known ones like the Brooklyn Bridge. I couldn't even name the long one in Florida that heads to the Florida Keys except that it's probably called the Florida Keys Bridge.

Seems like it was just yesterday we were submersible vehicle engineers.

Aparently the Dali is displacing roughly the same amount of weight as a Nimitz class Carrier >80,000 tons. If a carrier hit a bridge what would you expect to happen to the bridge.
Helps put it into perspective how massive that ship is.
No way they could stop with power, and probably coulden't steer effectively without power to the screws.

I'm guessing either a DEI dream team or an incompetent minimum wage foreign crew that barely gives a shit.

You see that all the time with Tractor Trailers.

Maybe I'm wrong and that crew was screaming on the radio and rushing up and down that ship trying to manually drop anchor and restart the engines and everything else..... But I have doubts.

It's named after Francis Scott Key for a reason. It is were Key rowed out to the British armada to negotiate a release but was held captive. As he watched the attack on Fort McHenry and wrote the Star Spangled Banner.

As a kid, tugs always moved ships around to open water. Then they went to assigned second pilots.
Why haven't we seen the assigned second pilot? This is an inexcusable event.

This bridge is the alternate route for I-95 if you are carrying Hazardous Materials. Absolutely no Haz-Mats are allowed in the Tunnels. Can't even drive your RV through there if you are carrying propane.Guess they are going to be driving through the streets of Baltimore with anything explosive. Yikes
695 circles the city, trucks can go around the other way around.
