Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

Just to keep this thread updated for someone doing a search, I have fixed my FPDC maxing out issues. I bought a VMP Voltage Booster and installed it. Took about an hour. I was going to pull the tank again and dig into the basket, but thought if the VMP unit fixes my issue then it's worth a few...

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

Bringing this back to the top as I just did another log yesterday. The car runs great up until it falls over around 5000 RPMs. FPDC is maxed out around that point and fuel injector pressure begins to drop. Battery voltage is well above 13v from idle all the way to around 5800 RPM. My plan now...

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

I just realized that I never went back into Advantage and adjusted the fuel pump voltage table. It still has the data from a stock 2001 Cobra table.

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

03, thats a really good point. I'm going back through data now to compare. I'm not sure in some of my earliest datalogging that I datalogged fuel injector pressure drop.

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

Ok, I just went back through LoSota's manual and it states that when pressure drop across the fuel injectors that I should look at fuel pump duty cycle as it may be maxed out. Coincidently, my FPDC does hit 1.00 as the pressure drops across the injectors.

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

Thanks Big! Fuel pressure at idle looks good, but starts to drop as I get into WOT around 6000 RPM. Car runs good, but I'm always afraid I'm going to hurt the motor as it's stock so I'm trying to keep the tune very conservative.

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

I just checked the last log and battery voltage shows from 12.9 to 14, but actual voltage at fuel pump is showing about 11.88 when at it's highest point. At idle, it was only showing around 4.5-5 volts then as I rolled into the throttle is would slowly climb, but never over 11.88. Eddie

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

Thanks 01! I plan on logging and checking that this weekend. I tend to jump to worse case and immediately thought that the horror stories about the fuel pump were true. Eddie

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

Thanks DSG! I have logged before and never noticed this drop. I did notice the car dragged a little to crank last night. Perhaps you're right on voltage. I logged voltage at fuel pump and it was 11.95, which I've logged before. It has never been at 12v or higher which is why I really didn't...

Low Pressure Drop Across Fuel Injectors

All, I was datalogging a little bit last night and came across something concerning. It appears my fuel pressure is dropping at WOT to around 29-30 PSI and my AFR is creeping into a dangerous range (12.35). This is a boosted application. Also, I logged my returnless fuel pump duty cycle and it...

Cool swap. I saw it at the NMRA race this past weekend on display in Beech Bend. The builder seemed like a really good guy.

    2007 GT500 Piston Specs

All, I want to update this for future reference if this thread comes up in a search to assist the next person. From Mahle: "this piston is made from our M142P alloy, which is stronger than the more common 4032 alloy while retaining minimal thermal expansion allowing tighter piston-wall...

    2007 GT500 Piston Specs

Does anyone have piston specs on the 2007 GT500 5.4? Specifically, I'm curious if the compression height is 1.33 or 1.22? Also, what is the dish cc? Thanks in advance. Eddie

Lowering boost and re-tuning 2001 Cobra

Thanks for the reply Fopar. I’m currently away and once I get home I’m going to relook a couple of things. I could probably tweak quite a few things, but with this being a street car and it seems to run pretty well, I really don’t want go to far into it. Eddie

Thanks 04sleeper. Its always great to hear some reassurance. My new plan is to leave it as is for now. Eddie

Yup, I’m all to familiar with adding something and chasing my tail fixing other things as a result. Thanks for all the replies guys.

Lowering boost and re-tuning 2001 Cobra

Fair enough. I’ll look and see. I like the statement “if she’s been happy then I’d leave her be.” I’m starting to second guess myself as the car is running really good.

Lowering boost and re-tuning 2001 Cobra

All, I'm changing my pulley from a 3.60 to a 3.80 on a Vortech S-Trimmed Cobra in an attempt to lower boost from 11lbs at 6000 to target around 8-9lbs. This is on a stock Cobra and I believe 11lbs may be too much (GT impeller, non-intercooled, and Anderson Powerpipe). This is a street car which...

    SCT Advantage ??

Thanks Decipha! I was following along the steps in Don Lasota book and it recommended pulling 4-5 degrees of spark globally during WOT tuning just to be safe while reconfiguring the base fuel table.

    SCT Advantage ??

Just to make sure I'm properly tracking how to globally pull spark 4-5 degrees, I open Global Spark Multiplier and put in -4, correct? I've read something that made me second guess this and I want to make sure. Thanks!! Eddie
