    The HARD TRUTH about EVs

I'm one of the guys that works on stuff like that lol. I've been working for Lexus as a technician for over 16 years now. I'm hybrid certified. When we had the early hybrid stuff like the Lexus RX400H, it was honestly pretty easy. Our new hybrid vehicles aren't as crazy complicated as they look...

    2014 Shelby GT500 - Connecting rods

I would recommend you send your engine to JDM engineering and have them install the parts. Either way, it'll be pricey. I paid around 18k for my engine with upgraded cams and all valve train components. If you don't want upgraded cams, that will save you a good amount.

    2014 Shelby GT500 - Connecting rods

You can do what I did and do the JDM engineering upgraded rods and pistons https://www.svtperformance.com/threads/built-engine-time.1196498/ https://www.teamjdm.com/2013-2014-gt500-5-8l-aluminum-shortblock-1200-hp-rebuild-kit/

3.73s doesn't make the car work harder, if anything it makes it easier on everything. 3.08s would be a different story. What all do you have done to the car? What fuel are you using? Sounds like your tuner didn't know what he was doing if you "nuked a piston"

    "Proper" way to delete thermostat?

If the 99/01 cobras take a specific thermostat I would replace that as well while I'm in there with the correct one. I know the GT500s take a special thermostat and you'll have issues if you don't use the right one.

    "Proper" way to delete thermostat?

If a vehicle overheats when driving it's almost always an airflow issue or clogged radiator issue, unless of course the engine is hurt. But you have already ruled that out. I would pull the radiator out and inspect it.
  24. 2011 gtcs

    "Proper" way to delete thermostat?

I would almost suspect the radiator as the problem, or it's an air flow issue. Especially if it happens while driving. I don't know how much a new radiator is, but I'd replace it if it's affordable

    "Proper" way to delete thermostat?

Does car over heat while driving at normal speeds? Or just at a stop lights/low speed driving? If it over heats at stop lights or low speed driving I'd invest in a better cooling fan setup or see if the front of the radiator is not getting good air flow. Does the car still have the OEM radiator...
