I wouldn’t do any more WOT pulls until you get this issue resolved. If by chance you aren’t getting the required voltage to the pumps, a lean condition could melt a piston. An alternator on its way out seems to be the usual suspect.

I had a similar problem and traced it back to the ignition switch. Also, this may be a shot in the dark, but check your battery for a loose ground.
