I have different front brakes but I just use the 07+ GT500 tire inflator kit. It fits perfectly in the spare tire well and even has SVT badging on it! Got mine OEM from Ford years ago.
In theory you should have better pedal feel from the stiffer caliper (most people switching probably have much better feel because they’re upgrading pads and getting rid of 20 year old brake fluid). That being said, the stock calipers should stop the car fine with good fluid/pads/rotors. Only...
Check your bias without the proportioning valve here: SN-95 Mustang Brake Bias Calculator
For a 94-04 Mustang, you want your front bias to be 70-75%. Likely, you don’t need the proportioning valve unless you’re trying to fine tune the braking on the racetrack.
ATS front works good with Cobra...
Great news! S&S Engineering LLC (company that makes ATS & XTS front adapters) is now machining and selling these rear rotor adapters for SRA and IRS!
He goes by @lowranger96 on these forums. You can also contact him via email or his Facebook page!
Yes, those quality issues with the Taurus calipers are why I added the red warning to the top of the calculator page!
Even assuming they’re working properly, they are a braking performance downgrade for the vast majority of people who install them. I guess people assume bigger piston = bigger...
I’d recommend saving some money/time and keeping the factory rear calipers. The math (SN-95 Mustang Brake Bias Calculator) says ATS front + Cobra rears has a more optimal (and much closer to factory) bias on our cars than ATS + Taurus rears.
Approx front bias:
OEM 03 Cobra: 72.6%
ATS front/Cobra...
Where are you getting the information that they are .200” longer than stock? All of the information I can find on MM’s site says the standard offset are the same as stock and forward offset move the wheel .75” forward. MM’s K member moves the wheel .75” forward on its own.
You should be fine to...
I was able to update this calculator (SN-95 Mustang Brake Bias Calculator) to get more accurate results after talking with @Blkkbgt and reading some old posts by Jack from Maximum Motorsports. Optimal bias seems to be in the 69-71% range (Terminators are 72.6% from the factory). Here is a table...
That is not what I am saying. My calculator has ATS front/Cobra rear at 72.7% and Cobra R front/Cobra rear at 69.3%. The data I have found says the ATS calipers have a taller pad than the Cobra R calipers so on the same 13" rotors, they have a slightly smaller effective rotor radius. But, the...
From my calculations, ATS fronts/Taurus rears push the front bias too low.
Please check the calculations on that page, it’s open source. Here’s the code: SN95-Brake-Bias/index.js at main · LawPaul/SN95-Brake-Bias
Rotor/caliper data is at the top of the file

If you have ATS front brakes, your front bias with Cobra rears is ~72% which isn’t much higher than stock. Here’s a page I made that calculates the bias for you with various common setups on these cars: SN-95 Mustang Brake Bias Calculator
Those rotors could be a good option for people wanting larger rear brakes with 17” wheels. Although Baer’s site says they are 14mm thick rotors (same as GT) compared to the Cobra’s 18mm vented rotors. That may be less desirable for some people.
Does the Baer caliper bracket not fit Cobras? I don’t believe Baer provides all of the necessary rotor dimensions. If you can take some measurements of the rotor for me, I should be able to easily modify the design and include a 13.25” rotor adapter in the next batch.
I’ll probably run a new...
I would be interested in more rotor options, but the 13-14 GT500 rotors were the only ones I could find with a substantially different diameter from stock that fit these cars. Taurus SHO rotors are close but have too small of a hub, most rotors are too thick.
For reference:
GT rear rotors...
The bottom sets are SRA prototypes. The two sets of holes are to support SRAs with GT or Cobra brake brackets (both will require a Cobra caliper bracket).
I picked up the batch of brackets today. The hardware is supposed to come Thursday and I’ll ship the kits out then! Here are the instructions for installation on an IRS car: https://lawpaul.github.io/SN95-Brake-Bias/doc/instructions/13-14_GT500_IRS.pdf
Got some measurements on an OEM 17” wheel and the caliper doesn’t fit by a few millimeters because of how the barrel gets tighter close to the wheel face.
I’ll send you a DM! Just to re-iterate the clearance notes for everyone: The bracket moves the caliper ~1” out radially (towards the wheel barrel/tire) and ~3/4” outboard (towards the wheel face). Both directions could be an issue depending on your wheels.
