    Gen 5 3.0 Whipple First Impressions - 968HP @ 25PSI

Can you shoot me a message about your catch can setup? I just pulled my factory supercharger and the catch can seems that it could use a little more help.

    VMP Gen 3 vs 3R

I recently put the Gen3 on my 2011 GT500. Had it dyno’ed at VMP yesterday as a matter of fact. Given you can easily dance around the limits of the stock motor with either blower, it may be difficult to justify the added expense of the 3R. You’re essentially talking mid 700s (gen3) vs upper 700s...

    WTB 13/14 GT500 OEM Injectors

They are the motorcraft 52lb injectors (56lb with fuel pump booster) that came standard on the 13-14. They are the correct height for GT500 fuel rails. Same part number go fast posted. You live about 60mi down the road from me. I’m up around Titusville. Thinking $200, including PP and...

    WTB 13/14 GT500 OEM Injectors

I will have a set with 300mi on them in a couple days. Bought them brand new. Put them in on my last set of mods and ended up buying a supercharger shortly thereafter that needed larger injectors. PM me if interested or it falls through with the other guy.

    M122 Pulley & Idler Swap

I’ll be darned. I have run a VMP 2.5 for a while now and never ran into any significant problems. I have seen a very small amount of belt slip as indicated by a little bit of black specks on the grey supercharger but have never noticed belt slip under acceleration. Nor have my pulley ribs worn.

    M122 Pulley & Idler Swap

There is a spring loaded pulley down in there somewhere that is called a belt tensioner. Find which one moves with a socket and ratchet and you’ll be on the game. After you pull the belt off the blower pulley, slowly release the tensioner back down so your belt will stay essentially in place.

    M122 Pulley & Idler Swap

I am surprised to hear of any issues with a pulley, specifically VMP’s setup that was referenced. I have run that setup for years without the slightest issue and know a number of others that have as well. Their pulleys look identical to the OEM pulleys and use the same bearings to my...

    M122 Pulley & Idler Swap

Idler pulley is relatively easy to swap. It’s just below the supercharger pulley on the passenger side. Here are the instructions from a while back. Same instructions will apply for your year. https://www.lethalperformance.com/info/public/assets/vmp_90idler.pdf

Cats that can handle the power?

Rob, PM, Ya’ll are probably right. I wouldn’t expect any cats to take that kind of extended punishment. Track abuse can and will tear up just about anything.

Cats that can handle the power?

yep that’s the one. I spoke with a seemingly knowledgeable older gentlemen at Kooks and he said he’s seen guys run them on 1k horsepower cars (unsure crank vs rwhp) without issue. He did state their standard cats won’t hold up to supercharged cars and they frequently get calls from people that...

Cats that can handle the power?

Supposedly the Kooks green cats are made a lot better than most aftermarket cats. Per Kooks, they will handle a high horsepower, high boost supercharged car but I don’t know what the limits really are. I put them on my car recently but I’m only pushing 600rwhp and haven’t had them on long. There...

    Feedback Request: Whipple 2.9 Gen4 & VMP 2.65 Gen3

I appreciate your feedback. I’m sure you’re itching to let it rip with the new supercharger. It is definitely a beautiful supercharger. Your engine bay looks awesome. I’ve heard some people say the whipples tend to lag a little bit on the low end due to the rotor pack size. I’ve also heard the...

    Feedback Request: Whipple 2.9 Gen4 & VMP 2.65 Gen3

I’m currently running the M122 with a 2.5” pulley. I’ve heard a lot of people say the 13-14 TVS would be sufficient. Most people probably wouldn’t care, but I simply don’t want the supercharger with 5.8 plastered across it on my 5.4 engine.

    Feedback Request: Whipple 2.9 Gen4 & VMP 2.65 Gen3

I’m looking for feedback from those that have personal experience with the Whipple 2.9 (Gen 3 or 4) and/or the VMP 2.65 Gen 3 on the GT500. Both are similarly priced and from what I can tell take a stock internal engine to the upper limits. I only use my car as a weekend driver and it never sees...

    Long tubes vs. O/R pipe

I recently went from an O/R-X to 1 7/8” long tubes with kooks green cats and nsr cams. I’m running a vmp 2.5” pulley on the stock ‘11 supercharger and measured around 12.5psi per the tuner. It does still peg the oem gauge at 15 but I question its accuracy. Unfortunately no before cams/headers...

Borla S-Type sound vs Corsa Sport

I had Catless midpipes with the Borla S Types on my ‘11. Started with the mufflers and went catless later. I think the mufflers were a near perfect tone by themselves, however the volume was a bit low for me given that the Shelby is just a weekend car for me. The catless pipes made a minor...
