Also for those interested - this is the camera I used FWIW - Crux CUB-01
It fit the keyhole suuuper snuggly without the need for any sort of grommet. It just pops right in. you still catch the very edges of the spoiler in it due to the wide field of vision but i've been happy with it.
I experience the very same. It takes a second of the car to get started up, partially due to E85 but I assume also in part to the deadhead setup i'm running too. I don't really plan on changing it up either, even with my planning upcoming changes.
I was running out of injector w/ E85 on my 80lbs right around the 700whp mark at 50psi base pressure. I can't recall my the duty cycle off the top of my head now, but Blankenship didn't want to push them harder. I'm running dual 465's with lethals budget plus fuel setup.
We could have cranked...
Very interesting, that's all something I hadn't considered at all. I *might* still upgrade to some 1050x to give myself some room, but it'd be awfully nice to be able to stick to the injectors that I already have
That's really interesting on the fueling. Without doing ANY research, how does that work? I was about to run out of injector on E85 with my 2.9 so I assumed i'd at least need to step up to 1050x to support more power.
Edit: thinking more, is this due to the fact that the superchargers require...
Hahahha thank you, and absolutely. I'll give you a good deal on the Whipple, t/b, 80lb'ers and whatever else cause I obviously won't need that stuff anymore.
Eh, **** it. Sometimes I make weird decisions. As I kicked around the idea of a Gen5 3.0 whipple I saw this.
I've always wanted a turbo Cobra and a pretty complete HP racing kit popped up locally that needs some love. I did as much research as I could find on these kits when they were...
Did my MM rear brake lines so I could mount up the 15x10's. The ride is SO much more comfortable with the rear of the car raked up too. The look is definitely cool though, I dig it.
edit: meh, last pic quality sucks since I zoomed in too much. Shows the contrast between the front/rear...
Excuse the ugly and messy picture but replaced one of my rear coilovers since the locking rings were frozen on one, adjusted the height in the rear and made some tweaks to the Viking settings.
Also installed my style bar the other night. Car is feeling better and better.
I've used Carma Performance for a few things and they've done a good job. I've worked with the owner Erin a bit and he's a good dude. They've been doing a lot of high-dollar builds and stuff more recently, but they're just generally very competent.
Side note: Heyyy, what's up fellow Nashville...
That's a fair point, I think it's just my pride talking now. I've done everything else on the car and feel like i've spun every bolt on the thing but just out of my element on this one. Not worth the risk imo.
Lame update: As much as I want to dig in myself, i'm just going to take it to the shop that did the initial install. I'm just not confident enough that i'll be able to really figure out what's happening visually, how much axle engagement is appropriate, or why the binding only occurs when hot.
Ahh yes! I had this exact problem when I was swapping from the spool. The axles just weren't close to being long enough. I ended up ordering another set through Strange and were the correct length this time, although the shop I had do the install said the driver was long and had to machine it...
Ah, no sorry I didn't make that clear. It used to have a spool and now I have the Strange S-trac. I'm positive that the squealing noise I'm hearing is from the very outside edge of the rear but the clunk could be from anywhere I guess.
Unfortunately that's what i'm kinda worried about. That diff wasn't cheap, but I also haven't had it all that long and might be warrantied. Maybe I should open it up and give an inspection of some sort.
Also good question - I wish I had the knowledge I have now when I was doing the rear. When...
The relevant part of my 8.8 setup:
35-spline Strange axles (c-clip eliminators, etc, and had everything came assembled)
35-spline Strange S-trac differential
Strange ABS reluctor wheels, etc
The problem(s) i'm coming across:
When the rear gets hotter after longer drives (or really hard...
Where in middle TN are you? I'm based out of Nashville and I drove up to Ken Blankenship to get tuned in KY. He's a little bit outside of Louisville and can't recommend him enough tbh.
Got a startup tune from him that I was able to putt up to KY on and was tuned on 93 and E85 the same day. Made...
I also don't really see myself getting rid of mine. From my perspective parts availability is pretty solid compared to some platforms i've modded in the past. For all intents and purposes they're not great cars if you look at it holistically, but there's something special about them...
