i do and ive seen quite a few other guys who track theirs as well.
i bought a cheap repro headlight off ebay and cut open so it has a better factory look than nothing in there at all.
I havent started mine since its last track outing 2 months ago.
Prepping for this year, I switched from regular oil to Amsoil 5w20 Dominator, new plugs, updated a few settings in the Holley Dominator after reviewing video/logs, cage just got re-certified, and I had the seat belts re-certified.
Ive had mine for over 11 years now. From stock to full 25.5 drag setup. I have thought about selling it quite a few times and every time I do, I think about this very topic and backtrack.
This has led me to gather parts to make it more street-friendly which should prevent me from selling...
I also ran this setup before I switched to 9". Hoosier c07's were my tire of choice and I would cut consistent low 1.4 60fts launching at 4k rpm on the IRS.
If you call Bogart, they will take care of you and they already have the correct backspacing needed for an IRS setup.
I have also done all the steps as others have in the past. I actually miss the days when my cobra was a street car with a 2.3.
IMO, I would get a 2.3 whipple (gen3) or 2.3 tvs if you can find one used.
i use distilled water with ~30% coolant. when i go to the track, i empty my ice tank (trunk tank) into a clean 5gallon bucket and replace it with regular water. i add ice at the track and when i get home i empty the water and replace it with the distilled/coolant mix.
You will see gains with an upgrade to 1 7/8 primaries on ARH headers and a matching 3'' x. I had macs before with a 2.5 x before and the collectors on them are a massive restriction.
The 3.8 would be too much for 99% of terminator owners and I totally agree on keeping what you have. I saw a fb post from Dustin Whipple stating gen6 is on the horizon but there wasn't any info if it was a rotor or case upgrade from the gen5. It will be interesting to see if our platform keeps...
I bought a spare passenger headlight to cut up for the air intake mod. Just have to drill, cut, dremel and get her installed for some fresh air at the dragstrip.
