Like Vinnie pointed out, you need to isolate where it is, so you can better determine what the action steps are to remedy the situation moving forward. If it's a gasket leak, it explains why it could be going away after the headers/manifolds warm up enough to seal. The fix could be as easy as...
There are LOTS of people who have knowledge. They just lack the wisdom to properly APPLY that knowledge. We all have fallen into that category from time to time, but we don't go on social media platforms asserting our purported superiority over others for not applying knowledge, and then do...
I had new valves, springs, guides, locators, etc. When I did my Coyote, and it had only been boosted for 2k miles and only had 47k miles total on it. He's kinda stupid about a lot of stuff in my opinion.
The rev limit being relatively low on a 5.4/5.8 makes 4.10's a little scary to me. I had 3.73's on my '09 and it would get up on the rev limiter pretty quickly in 1st and 2nd gear. I believe the '13/'14's have a taller gear ratio in their version of the TR6060 than the '09 did that might change...
I have a very good machine shop in Rockville, Md. I had do my Coyote build. I used Manley pistons and H-tuff rods, ARP main hardware and Clevite bearing they did the head work balanced the assembly and built the short block. I can give you his info if you want to deal with an operation where...
The windows don't actually have a track on the '07-'14 Gt500's so opening them with a dead battery won't be an issue. Closing them with a dead battery needs to be done a little delicately.
From another GT500 forum:
Well, to wrap up this thread, I know EXACTLY what happens when you try to open...
If it is mechanically sound, absolutely. For your purposes that I assume is as a fun driver, that looks good from 10 feet, but may have some flaws. That's a great price in this market, and you can save up some money and improve upon it from there, both cosmetically as well as performance-wise...
700 on 93 pump is totally doable with a 2.65 and supporting mods. You see my signature. I was north of 650, with a failing BAP and a 2.3 Gen2R, with 52lber's and long tubes. A 2.65 Gen3R with FIC1000's or a set of 1050X's and 700 is there.
In a 1/4 mile no, road course, absolutely. I added the Gen5 Whipple to my '18 GT and with all that weight from the SC and the oversized heat exchangerand fluids, it totally changed the balance of the car. If there were a way to negate that added weight over the nose, and I was in a position...
Apples to oranges comparison coming.
I had a Gen2R on my Shelby, I have a good buddy with a Gen3R on his Coyote, on E85 and it is north of 850whp. I currently have a Gen 5 3.0 Whipple on my '18 Mustang GT. I am in the process of going built short block and fuel system, with a "stage 1" port job...
I also bought a '03 Terminator convertible a few weeks ago but the motor is out of that as well. It had a timing chain tensioner go bad and it took out a bunch of stuff. It'll be rebuilt, and has a 2.3 liter Whipple and should be easy 600+whp on 93. That should be fun and give me the Cobra...
Thank you. It was a nice car and I was very upset when I wrecked it. I have an 18GT that I am in the middle of taking to about 900whp on E, which should be fun but I do miss being a Shelby snob, lol.
