What are the differences between a 2011 and 2018 6.2L

Got my 6.2 out on wed, torn down last night, Ill post a few picts when I have a second. But, 300,000km and still has crosshatch! less than .0004" taper in the cylinders and the crank measures like new! the thing is a beast for sure! 3 collapsed pistons and some timing chain wear, plus 2 broken...

What are the differences between a 2011 and 2018 6.2L

Will do, I should be in there in the next couple days. We had one of these while testing in Boise. I think mine is better than that, In further diag before I started pulling the 6.2 I don't think I lost a rod, I think Its rod bearings, coupled with a blown exh donut and loose timing chain...

What are the differences between a 2011 and 2018 6.2L

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. We hit all 4 seasons there. (Even snow) We managed to get the race done between showers though. It will be better in August when we go back. The Harley is pretty much stock. So it should be pretty simple to fix. I decided to pull the engine and see if I can...

What are the differences between a 2011 and 2018 6.2L

Hey all, looking for some info on what changed in the 6.2 around 2017. I threw a rod in my 2011 F-150 Harley and am searching for a replacement. I found a low mileage 2018 close to home , but, the interchange says they are different. Does anyone know what the difference is? I'm good if its just...

You actually can't inhale when they go, (I swear I felt the earth move!) Then all you see is chutes at the other end at 300+MPH! I'm pretty lucky to be part of that!

    Looking for an 03 PCM

Hi all, I have been searching for a PCM for an 02\02 lightning for 6 months now. The only place I have had any luck is FS1 online, after talking with them I will never darken their website again. (3800 bucks for a lightning pcm vs 170 for an N\A 5.4 version!) Does anyone know where to find...

Long time no post, lightning problem... least block isnt vented....

Sounds a bit like its over fueling, (WOT puts it in de-flood mode while cranking) See what the fuel press is, also check for codes if you can (KOEO and KOER.) Should give you a place to start. Good luck

    Tracking down a parasitic draw

And yes, if your draw stops when you unplug something, whatever you just disconnected is causing the draw. Cheers

    Tracking down a parasitic draw

Mainly the big lead from the battery, BK\OG . But feel free to disconnect both. Note: check the fuse link, it often melts when the system is boosted backwards. If that happened, you will need to change it and your draw will be elsewhere, but the methods in this thread should help you out. Hope...

    Tracking down a parasitic draw

When you connect booster cables in reverse, any live circuit with a diode in it will begin to conduct. The largest being in the alternator rectifier, (there are 6 big ones in there) the high current can overheat them causing one to short out and have a draw. disconnect the big lead at the...

    Old newbie

At the end of the day for sure, but, when 5000hp launches 2 feet in front of you, There is nothing like it! (Except maybe 11,000HP) (I got to stand between 2 top fuel funny cars at the hit, it was mind blowing!! 11,000 HP each!) Funny thing is, aside from the Kid in the picture, I'm the youngest...

Thanks, I was born with the mustangs (64), so you aren't far off. Makes a guy feel pretty old doing 4 or 5 engine overhauls (and one replacement) in a couple days, then trying to get out of bed on Monday!

    Tracking down a parasitic draw

A much quicker, but far less accurate method for parasitic loss testing is a thermal camera. (You need a pretty good one and it only works well with larger draws) Just point it at the fuse panels (Fairly close) and the hottest one is the biggest draw. If you suspect the alarm system, point it...
