well, finally took it for a drive into town. what used to cause the temp gauge to go slightly right of the L in NORMAL (basically driving really slow in 1st in our neighborhood) is now only in the R in NORMAL. per the SCT, the R is about 202-204F actual temp.
gonna call it case...
true.
so you did bring up some points about temps etc and wanted to see what you think about my situation. in a nutshell, within a 2 hr radius, i could be anywhere from 5000 ft to 11000 ft elevation. i know that boiling point of water is considerably less here at the house (8800ft). how...
no offense but the Ford engineers also designed the A/C condenser with too many fins per inch which caused the overheating issues in the 96 and they had to issue a TSB to fix it.
yes sir. i mixed up probably 60/40 by eyeball and added the water wetter too. also followed the burp procedure on reische website. just running at 2k sitting in the driveway, data logger only got up to 140//f
well, as hopefully a final update, here we go. 96 cobra. replaced A/C condenser with 97 model. all A/C intact and functioning. replaced 160F t-stat that I installed with a 170F Reische. bought a SCT tuner. reset fan temps to what Joel recommends. test drive Thursday. snow Friday.
depends how much time ya got. i'd say at a minimum, tahiti (you have to fly into papeete anyway), moorea (ferry from papeete) and bora bora (fly from papeete). there are outlying islands too if you have time.
fiji (only been thru airport) is it's own destination in my opinion
that was a great post. the pics helped alot. i'm gonna see what the reiche does and probably still end up doing the same mod. i like that switch that you put in.
very cool! are you eating any meals off the ship? if so, i'll look up a place on bora bora that is still one of our top 5 meals ever. and the wife will love it, it's pretty romantic and not many tables. good brownie points for ya! lol
if you like eating meat, if you happen to see...
direct flights from LAX on air france and air tahiti nui. and it's only like 5/6 hour flight. there are some farther away islands in tahiti where you can kinda go full on robinson crusoe and have the whole place to yourselves with just a caretaker/chef/host.
it was awesome! are you going to any other islands? we took the ferry to moorea. then flew to bora bora. there are some islands that are much farther away and much smaller.
food was great. a mix of french and island/seafood stuff.
an overwater bungalow is really cool too. glass...
i would pick the seychelles over the maldives. used to work with a few guys that all told me the same thing. they said too much muslim (no booze) in maldives for them.
wifey and i did french polynesia. easy to get to from LAX. bora bora, moorea and papeete.
holy shite! that's insane
yep, quite familiar with NM. used to come down to santa fe or abq to play golf while it was still cold and snowy here. blakes' lottaburger with green chile??? yes sir!
@venom1997
just noticed you are from ABQ. any opinions on Hellion turbos? i found their website many years ago and thought about driving down there and have them do a turbo on mine. never had the finances back then though.
great!
the only thing i read about the switch idea was that there is a very similar colored wire close by.
how are you gonna splice into it? the one on the top left?
that;s cool as hell!
keep me posted if you have any issues that you run into. but it seems like a pretty easy wiring job.
now you got me thinking for my car. something like this?
