Thoughts on 8-10 year old Explorers

We are the original owners of a 13' Sport with 145K miles, but haven't had any of the issues that these cars are known to have. I have serviced the PTU many times, changed the coolant over to Yellow, and have done all of the oil changes on time with Motorcraft oil and filter. Electric power...

    Total bridge collapse in Baltimore...

I live in Maryland, and that bridge was my commute, it's literally right outside my office. They're surely going to raise our tolls to fund this. I completely agree that Maryland/boat insurance should pay. But if Buyden is going to piss away money, i'd much rather see US Government money stay...

I would guess a little more because of the added traffic and time of day would definitely affect travel time. You're right though, at night, 10 minutes.

    Total bridge collapse in Baltimore...

I'm not saying it wasn't done on purpose.... But crippled? No. Hazardous material can go the other way around the beltway. It's a little inconvenient as it will ad about 15 minutes to an hour maybe, depending on traffic.

Baltimore gas & Electric put those overhead lines in a year or two ago, I don't think they fully replaced anything underwater though. I have a buddy who worked that project for them, i'd have to ask. The tunnels you are referring to are our alternate routes around this mess.

My office overlooks the Key Bridge, I cross it every day for my commute to work. It's chaos down here right now, helicopters and rescue boats everywhere... The guy on shift last night that runs my job said he heard it, sounded like thunder.

Bank rate survey finds: 56% of Americans cannot cover a $1000 emergency

I've said this before...I want a 2013 grabber blue/black stripe GT500. But I won't finance it, and I won't take away from heavy investing/saving and vacationing to buy it. Could easily make payments, just can't bring myself to do it. Wife and I make pretty good money with a $2K mortgage being...

Bought another house -- Garage build

Looking good! I don't know how any homeowner who does any kind of yard maintenance or has off-roading hobbies lives with out a shed. I will say that I have those shelves in my basement and they sag with minimal weight over time. I invested in one of these for the garage and can honestly say...
