This thread took a weird turn. It's all about the whole set up when it comes to gears. I ran the stock 3.27's in my 01 forever. From stock to a big bore stroker with a D1. With both the 3650 and a T-56. I never really had a complaint. If I really needed to move quick I just had to down shift. A buddy got an IRS with 3.90's and wanted to get some stock gears. So we swapped straight across because I was curious. The 3.90's were fun even with the F1A. Things got moving in a hurry. And with drag radials it had hardly any issues hooking up. I'm sure I was shifting faster, but it took about two times driving the car to adjust. The only issue I had was on the freeway. With those gears and a stock T-56 it put my cruise RPM right at the perfect spot to make my BOV extremely loud. If I had kept that car i was going to swap to the Viper 5th and 6th to lower the cruise RPM.
