You must have the top and windows up, helmet and long pants, I believe that if you run in the 12's with a vert you must have a roll cage, I never had that problem with my 98, (it may be the 11's someone correct me if I am wrong.)

Quoted from the Moroso Motor Sport Park rules.

 Convertibles running 13.99 or quicker, as well as all cars running 11.99 or quicker must have roll bar.

So 14 is OK in South Florida.

Apparantly it depends on the rules of the track. This from Carolina Raceway:

"No convertibles are allowed to race unless equipped with a roll bar. "

Hmmmm. I'm out.

depends on th track.. I ran on a track in southern WI., as it was open track night... Just signed some papers, the usual. hold the track harmless, ect... and then they let you run.. the way you could not run on this type of forum is if you were running notriuos..

Regardless of the rules, you will always be faster at the end of the run with the top up. The car is much more aerodynamic that way. Putting the top down creates a lot of drag.
