We went to the track last night.
We've done a quite a bit to the car since the last time I posted.
We finally installed gears, 3.55s and a finned diff cover that Justin powder-coated. I tried some new wheels and tires (325/50/15 MT ET Streets). Roush sent us a new pulley, it makes about 10psi.
New diff cover:
Justin also designed and built a 6 point roll-bar.
The design is awesome! It is NHRA legal. The main hoop and rear bars are hidden within the body panels and under the roof-liner. The harness bar uses four-bolt flanges, so it is legally removable. The door bars are removable and swing out when installed. We can still get both babies in the back! It adds about 70lbs. I definitely felt it when trying to push the car by myself last night.
You can see the passenger side door bar in this one:
My first run I got my best 60', a 1.49. That pass was a 10.457 @ 132. I decided to drop the tire pressure, because I was running them at 19psi.
Despite dropping the pressure, my 60' increased. I don't know if 19psi was the sweet spot for the tires (it seems high to me for the particular tire), or if the track conditions just deteriorated.
However, as my 60' increased, the DA decreased. Thus, my best ET of the night was a 10.431 @ 133.76 w/ a 1.559 60'. I had 17.5psi in the tires that run.
I followed that run with 10.470 @ 133.99 w/ 1.61 60' (I spun, in the left lane when I normally run right). I had 17psi in the tires that run.
My last run was my highest trap: 134.20. I ran a 10.456 w/ a 1.572 60'.
I was a pretty happy girl!
