Spit out a plug a few weeks ago. I checked the threads (or so I thought) to see if they were good just by putting a different plug in the same hole. Well my new plugs came in and all of them when in perfect until #2. It would tighten about 2 times and go loose. So I guess Ill either need to have it re-threaded or buy a new head.

If I go with a new head, I might as well go ahead and replace both with updated heads. Anyone know where to get them?

timesert p/n 5553 will let you repair the head on the engine. it is not cheap - $360 or so but it is a complete kit, with everything you need, great instructions, and is a better than new repair. still less than new or remanufactured heads especially if you include labor.

jmo.
