I thought they were faster than they are, apparently they're high 13 second cars at best which makes his story that much more questionable.

Bone stock I would say 13.2 - 13.5 at best. MMFF got it down to 13.3 with Evan Smith driving. These cars need gears , boltons and tires to run deep in the 12's which is in the stock 2012 5.0 territory!
A bolt on 2012 V6 wouldn't be far back from a stock 01 cobra and definitely not 4-5 cars behind.......
As I said earlier in the thread, I would be more than happy to run the OP in my mildly modded '11 V6.

From a dig you would get him pretty good but from a roll I'd say it's a drivers race with the advantage going to the cobra......
I disagree as the '11 V6 has a better geared trans and my car has 3.73 gears vs. 3.27 gears for a stock '01 Cobra. '01 Cobras don't trap 104.5 - 106+ stock!

They don't? :shrug: I trapped 104mph stock in bad air not to mention the tq advantage.

I had a '99 Cobra with mild bolt ons and 4.10 gears and it ran an identical 13.03 (in good air) as my '11 V6 with a trap of a little over 106 MPH on street tires.
Most of the stock '99-'01 Cobras that I have seen with decent drivers run high 13's at around 102 MPH.
