I don't know how to describe this, so I will say it as best as I can.

When I give the car some throttle in gear, sometimes it feels like it is a monster and is extremely responsive. Other times, it feels more "sloshy." Like it isn't getting all power. And mostly, when i am taking off, it sort of surges and I can hear a sound, like something is finally connecting and providing the proper thrust. It does not seem to be engine related.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? Could it be the clutch? Differential?

Watch your tach when it does this. When it does "connect" as you say do the rpms suddenly go down at the same time? Or is the tach fairly steady?
