2007 Corvette (C6) Black 51,000 miles ECS Supercharged, ½ mile race car The owner of this car wanted it ‘looking a little better’ for an upcoming race he is participating in this month. This Corvette looked like it was never shown any love since it rolled off the assembly line! Holograms, swirl-city, scratches, pitting, hazing, marring, you name it, it had it. Plan of attack: Reduce as many defects as possible and ceramic coat the car. The paint was painfully thin. It averaged around 2.3 mils. The vehicle was rinseless washed with Adam’s rinseless wash. Clayed with a Griot’s medium mitt with rinseless was as lube. Paint readings were taken via DeFelsko. Rupes 21 MkII, 12lr, and iBrid were used with an assortment of foam and microfiber pads. Blackfire Compound and Polish were chosen after numerous test spots. The paint seemed to respond well and like them. LSP was McKee’s 37 paint coating. Tire dressing was Adam’s VRT. Glass was cleaned with a dedicated glass MF towel and Blackfire glass cleaner. The exhaust tips were cleaned with Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener. The interior was vacuumed via Metro and wiped down with McKee’s Fast Interior Detailer. The engine compartment was wiped clean with Adam’s APC and then AutoFinesse Revive trim dressing was used on the plastic/rubber bits.
