2008 Porsche Turbo Cabriolet Black 36,565 Miles I had a client interested in a paint correction and ceramic coating on his almost daily driven turbo cab. The vehicle was brought to the operating room of Autodermatology so I could take a look at it, explain what could be expected/results, and give a quote. Client was ready to get it looking as good as possible and set up an appointment. The vehicle was dropped off Friday morning and I got cracking on it as soon as it cooled down. The entire vehicle was covered in heavy swirls, some scratches, scuffs, and some unknown hazing/defects. It was also covered in sever overspray. I initially thought that the vehicle had metallic paint! All of the horizontal panels were covered in very fine overspray. (it was removed during the claying process). I found that the vehicles paint was very soft…after the initial cutting stage there was heavy marring left over that had to be removed during the polishing stage. The black paint was responding well and the vehicle was starting to look like a black mirror. I was going to turn it into a black diamond! Process/tools/chemicals/etc: 2BW, clay, compound, polish, ceramic coating, glass, exhaust tips, wheels pulled for cleaning, tire dressing and coating, calipers cleaned and coated, wheels wells were cleaned and coated, top cleaned and treated, glass, interior, well you get the picture; it was the whole enchilada! The paint readings were decent and I decided on my plan of attack! Process/tools/equipment/chemicals/products: 2 BW with Wolfgang Autobathe for shampoo. Clayed via Griots medium mitt. Dried via Master Blaster. Top cleaned with 303 top cleaner. Flex 3401, Rupes MKII 21, Rupes iBrid. Griots Fast cut MF pads, Rupes mini pads, white polishing pad. Griots Fast cut cream. Adam’s finishing polish. HD/3D Polish Misc MF towels. Defelsko PTG. Scangrip LED lights and tripod. Adam’s glass cleaner. Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener. BEEDS HD and ELX ceramic coatings. Adam’s tire and rubber cleaner. Tuf Shine tire brush. Adam’s wheel cleaner. 1Z APC. Carpro Dlux Vacuumed via Metro. Pinnacle leather cleaner/conditioner. McKee’s interior detailer. 3D/HD fabric protector. I hope I haven’t left anything out. If so, please ask! And as always…comments are always welcome and appreciated! As received/defects:
