Went down to Mexico to get an idea of how my new 2011 GT runs. My car: 2011 Mustang GT 'Base' model coupe 650 miles 6 speed manual 3.73 gears 3,560 pounds with a 1/2 tank of gas (without driver) 18" wheels with 235/50/18 Pirelli's K&N filter Lethal Performance 3" O/R X-pipe SCT 93 octane tune by Jon Lund Driver mod 2003 Mach 1 Mustang 14,000 miles 5 speed manual 3.55 gears Stock 245/45/17 Goodyear Eagles Pro 5.0 shifter K&N filter FRPP Aluminum driveshaft Mac Flowpath mufflers (weld in) Driver mod This car in good air ran 13.05 @ 108 MPH on the stock Goodyear Eagles just as it sits now. I know this car well and have driven and riden in the car many, many times since it was new. I figured it would be a good barometer to see how my new car runs. We decided to go from a 2nd gear roll so that wheel spin wouldn't be a factor for either car. No passengers in either car. He started around 3,500 RPM's in his car, I'm not sure of my RPM at the start, but think we were running about 25-30 MPH. I honked it off and we got an even start. On the initial hit the Mach 1 jump out on me by a fender, but almost immediately I was back even and just steadily pulled away from him till I shut down in 5th gear at about 125 MPH. He said I was ahead by a good 5 to 6 car lengths when we stopped. I was VERY happy with how my car performed as his car is a very good running Mach 1 for the limited mods that he has. I wasn't able to powershift my car because I have the dreaded 'clutch pedal sticks to the floor at high RPM' problem right now. I shifted as quickly as possible at about 6,900 RPM's while letting off the gas slightly. I let him drive my car some on the way back from Mexico and he was very impressed with the power of the new 5.0! I'm looking forward to getting a JLT CAI in a few weeks when they finally hit the market!! Hope you enjoyed!
