The gas station just up the road from the Copart yard. Time for a stock up on energy drinks and some fresh gas for the way home. Kinda wished I had bottled more of their warm weather up to bring home. This is where I stood at the gas station, for the trip home. I set a second trip for fuel mileage reasons on the way back. Did pretty well with the trailer on the way down, but with the car, and all those mountains to climb, I was curious what the ole 6.2 would do on the way back. Of course and outdated Nav unit in my truck meant that my turns got messed up when I was outside Atlanta. That mistake cost me 2 hours in traffic, and a longer route for the trip home. Yay! 9 lanes of gridlock, idiot drivers, and a big ass trailer behind me. What fun!!! Not far outside Atlanta, I ended up figuring out that I had light problems with my trailer, and that one of the tires wasn't going to make the trip home. I found a goodyear store after some searching, and they helped me with a new tire. And a few trips into an Autozone, and I ended up with working lights on the trailer. The blinkers wouldn't come to life no matter what I tried though. Another trip into AZ and I had myself some magnetic lights to server as blinkers at the very least. Heavy traffic and no blinkers = no fun. This was at a gas station in one of the Carolina's. I never looked at the good parts of the exterior of the car, and grabbed some pics with a nice sunset in the background. I drove into the night for a while, and stopped in a lowes somewhere in Virginia for a few hours rest. After the sunrise, I stopped for a break and some fuel. The hills were pretty impressive in this area, and unfortately don't come out in pics very well, but the 6.2 was chugging up them pretty well. It appears something followed me from Alabama... I think it drinks 93 and makes smoke.... Pit stop in western mass, heading to Worcester. Last leg of the trip, as I was only another 4 or 5 hours from home at this point. Had we planned better we could have met, and he could have seen the car in person. Gas and more gas. Second to last stop on the open road here. And the last stop on the way home! Topped her off just a mile from my house, so I could see what the exact trip was. She's almost home!!!! Here is the trip total for the whole shebang. Quite a bit of hours driving, that's for sure! And here is the trip back and the mileage she got. The next morning. And possibly the only time shes had frost on her.
