[QUOTE="Riddick, post: 16602969, member: 143188"] Had a little bit of free time tonight so we did as much as we could. We have everything pulled off the motor with the exception of the transmission. Our goal was to get the heads off so I can take them to machine shop tomorrow. So far everything is looking perfect and all components look brand new as expected, this motor has 12k miles on it. For all the ethanol users I would advise on changing your oil out every few months. I always heard this in the past and never worried about it. I was changing mine once a year since the car was not driven that much and everytime I drove it I made sure the oil was up to temp. As soon as we pulled the valve covers you could really smell the ethanol inside the engine. After taking apart the secondary chain tensioner I did notice a tiny bit of ethanol crud in there but nothing to serious. Cylinder walls, cams, and intake ports were all spotless. I was surprised that we had ZERO oil residue inside the lower intake or intercooler, it was all squeaky clean. Previously I was running a Bobs premium catch can and it didnt let anything past it. The car now has a Fat Fab catch can that vents to atmosphere so no more PCV. Here are a couple of pics, I'm horrible about taking pics while in the middle of it as my hand are always covered in oil. Taking tomorrow off and we will have the trans off and new engine on the stand by the weekend!!
