MGW, fliud, braces etc WILL NOT FIX THE GRIND/LOCKOUT ISSUE! This is my opinion after my personal research and experience. These things are bandaids, other than the MGW which removes the main issue being the rear rubber mounts that allow a lot of flex, however a previously badly damaged trans will still have issues internally. I bought my 2012 from Carmax with less than 7,000 miles on it. Hadn't had a Mustang in 11 months. When I left the lot, I made a left turn to the main road and slammed 1/2 while spinning at high RPM's, only to miss the shift with a grind and lockout. I 100% felt embarrassed, like I lost my touch. Next day, 2 friends in the car, same thing, they laughed. I told them the same thing happened when I bought it and my buddy in the backseat googled and found this issue. I took it to Hansel Ford, showed them what it was doing and dropped it off. They replaced all the bad parts under the powertrain warranty and when I left there I made the highest RPM power shift 1-2 and it was butter. I then ordered the MGW and never shifted hard with the stock shifter again. Installed the MGW into a perfectly good trans and for the next 6k miles of track time I never had another issue, ever. My 2014 has the slightest same issue, I'll take it to Ford, fix the internals, then order the "fix", in my opinion. It doesn't lock me out but on 2 passes there was a slight kink heard/felt. I will be able to duplicate it with the tech at Ford, it'll be fixed under warranty, then the shifter swap. If you have this issue, I urge you to fix the internals, then swap shifters
