My wife has an '02 taurus with the 3.0L 12V Vulcan (flex fuel)motor. It's a pooch. I did my usual mods: k&n filter, muffler, no resonator. It picked up to a whole 149 wheel hp according to my g-tech. which was a gain of 14 wheel hp. Not bad I thought, but is there anything else I can do cheaply? I do happen to have a Compucar nitrous in a bag kit off my contour that I could drop in for that momentary kick in the pants. Anyone ever use nitrous on these motors? I realize this is an "SHO" forum but I can't find anything out there for the normal tauruses. It does look like there is plenty of room for a turbo though..... Maybe I'll start scavenging the junk yards.

I'm not on the up and up on them, but check out www.tccoa.com (I believe thats it) or search for Taurus Car Club of America, those guys over there tweak those things. Jason King, is a huge Vulcan IIRC. He even fitted a supercharger to one..

SHould have started with the Duratech you would have a lot more potential with it.....
