The only problem i have with the Explorer Sport is the front drivers seat. Im 5'11" and it felt like i was a mile away from the door. I couldnt fathom having to drive it every day as i like to rest my elbow on the door while steering. It was so far that i couldnt get comfortable in any position. My wife didnt mind since she is so small but it really bothered me. The rest of the truck is amazing though. Tech packed and extremely quiet. They did a great job with the NVH over the standard Explorer. The XLT felt like a rattle trap and the tire noise was horrible. One other thing that i dont like is the stupid "Explorer" in HUGE black letters on the hood. Why they put that there baffles me as it takes away from the clean lines. That would be my first mod, to remove the stupid badge off the hood. For straight line oomph you cannot go wrong with the Explorer Sport. A tune alone and its a monster. Full bolt ons and a tune should be in the low 13's or high 12's. That is smoking for a 5000lb truck. Livernois Motorsports Explorer Sport running 12's w/ CAI, tune, 170 tstat, downpipes and exhaust. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmH0MRPwuYE I will say that it has better shift points than the Edge Sport. I dont know why Ford added a huge torque management system to the Edge but it really kills the fun feeling in first and second gear. On a highway roll the truck flat hauls but its those first two gears on take off that you really feel it being held back. This is more than likely why the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times suffer.
