They blew the 2nd and 3rd gear synchro on this run, which is why he is "hitting" the limiter, the car wasn't shifting well into 2nd and 3rd. With 50 shifts+ on each lap you can imagine how much time was lost here. Additionally, a restart of the car before pit exit caused the trac/stability settings to come back online which he didn't realize until some time in. You can see him fumbling with the buttons trying to disengage it (you have to be stopped to turn it all FULL OFF). Basically this 1 clean lap they got, was anything but clean. Dom made the most of it though, he is an absolute ****ing animal in that car (even though he hasn't set foot in one in over a year). How far this effort has come on the absolutely skeleton crew and private budget is unreal. This is the THE ONLY private funded ring attempt in the history of this track. Most OEMs have garages and full race teams ON TRACK and rent the track for days completely to themselves to put up 100s of practice laps and the hero pass. These guys are out there on industry days practicing with traffic, and had 1, ****ing 1 lap to make a pass. Their achievement is truly David and Goliath.
