I've bought various furniture items that recline over the past 2-4 years and I've found that generally the quality ranges from marginal to sub-par. One of those items was a misaligned reclining sofa with the left side noticeably lower (seat back) than the right side. It was a clearance item so I've lived with it in my office. Most recently I bought another leather sofa that was advertised to have a solid steel frame to prevent sagging. Nope! The side I sit in every day has already started to sag. You can feel the different in the seating surface between my seat and the one on the left. So if I end up replacing it in a year or so, I will NOT even consider stuff from the local furniture store. Or Costco! It's all sub-par. Comfortable for awhile and then it loses it's seating luster. I'll drive to, say, New York City, and buy reputable and premium quality furniture from a higher end retailer (made in the U.S.). I remember back in the 70s - '90s there was a premium furniture outlet in Milford, CT call Wayside. Awesome place. Their stuff was not cheap but the quality was excellent for the most part. They closed their store years ago because people were more looking for cheaper stuff. Well, people got what they were looking for. But the quality is now cheaper, too.
