Yeah, things seem to be changing for the worse in my opinion. I went to Army basic training in 1985. My Dad went through in 1965. The only difference was he did physical training (PT) in his uniform and combat boots. I did PT in shorts, T-shirt and tennis shoes. I remember getting smoked and yelled at left and right in basic. Not because I was a screw up, but that's just what they did to try and break you or make you learn how to operate in a stressful environment. My company was doing push ups and a Drill SGT was trying to bounce rocks off the pavement and hit us in the face. His aim on me was true once LOL.... It wasn't like he was throwing boulders. Just big enough to piss you off LOL... I remember when we went to get our uniforms issued we had to strip down to our under ware. One dumbass decided to go commando LMAO!!! Drill SGT asked him where his under wear was. Said he didn't wear any LMAO!!! Drill SGT took him outside and smoked him naked (just push-ups) ROFLMAO!!!! Yeah, try doing that S#!T to recruits today.... If these P***IES can't handle stress and being yelled at how are they going to handle combat? I remember being deployed to Iraq and our compound getting mortared. Let me tell you, no surround sound can replicate a bomb going off outside your trailer...... BTW, Happy Veterans Day to all of you who have served. I salute you!!!
