By now most of you know that our 5.0L GT and 2.3L EcoBoost Cold Air Intakes have been out for some time, and we now have all three engines covered with the release of our 3.7L V-6 system. As you can probably see, the intake box itself is the same one that is used in the 4-cylinder and V-8 intake systems, but the intake tube is specific to the V-6:
Our intake system for the previous generation V-6 Mustang was a huge seller for us, and this kit builds on the quality of that popular system. Just like AIRAID’s extremely popular Cold Air Intakes for the 2.3L EcoBoost and 5.0L GT Mustangs, the new MXP-Series Intake for the 2015 3.7L V6 delivers what performance enthusiasts demand: bolt-on performance and great looks in one complete package.
The new AIRAID intake features a specially designed one-piece roto-molded intake box that draws outside air from the factory cold air duct location while having a unique shape that promotes airflow all the way around the filter. The all-new air box design utilizes a lid with a Plexiglass window that adds underhood styling while keeping the filter isolated from hot engine compartment air and allowing the user to keep tabs on filter condition. The massive 1300-cfm air filter is available with traditional oiled filter media in red or SynthaMax dry media in red, blue, or black. All AIRAID filters are washable and reusable while carrying a lifetime warranty.
An all-new roto-molded intake tube connects the air box assembly to the throttle body on the engine. Designed to maximize airflow and eliminate restrictions, the 3.7L intake tube includes a specially formed venturi to ensure accurate MAF sensor readings. Due to the unique design of the intake tube and venturi no tuning is required with this system; however, the intake has also proven to maximize the benefits of aftermarket tuning.
