I have been fitted. It's a simple process but the quality of your fitting relies heavily on the experience of your fitter. Stay away from places like golf galaxy, they are a joke. I highly recommend going to a course with a good fitting center or something like Ifit. If during your fitting you start magically gained 30-40 yards over your old clubs but the tracking program shows no massive differences in swing speed or hit location you're being lied to. What has happened is the fitter has fiddled with the program to add distance. Now I am not saying the clubs you hit won't add distance but you will not gain 30 or 40 magical yards unless your old clubs were complete garbage which they are not. This is always the first red flag about a fitter that pops up when I hear loud mouth jackasses with banana slices talking about their fitting on the range. It's always the same BS that the gained massive distance with their new clubs. Stay away from those fitters. What you should be looking for in a fitting is more consistency in your ball striking and shot shape. That is what a real fitting is supposed to accomplish. I highly recommend you spend some time on the range with some sort of tracking system. Doesn't matter if it's track man or the new top golf stuff. Learn your distances for every club, you should already know your shot shape. Take some impact stickers with your too to find out where you strike the ball. A lot of golf course are installing this stuff now so it shouldn't be hard to find one. Some places also offer simulator time. Lastly swing different weight shafts. Depending on your swing they can make massive differences in how hard or easy it is to swing the club on plane. I for example like light shafts and currently have 90 gram KBS stiff flex shafts for example. Lastly if you feel you're being lied to don't he afraid to walk away and ask for your money back. Magically hitting a driver 350 with a 105 mph swing speed? Walk.
