Canada I was just there last week. You do not need a passport if you travel by land or sea. All you need is a picture ID (driver's license) and proof of citizenship (I used a birth certificate). The Canadians at the border were much more pleasant to deal with than the Americans letting us back into the country. Example: I bought a used FR500 m58 exhaust from a SVTP member (thanks Chad) and the border guard asked why I drove all the way to Canada to pick up an exhaust. I replied that it was discontinued. He said "Discontinued how?" I said that it is no longer manufactured. Does anyone else know another meaning to `discontinued`???? I did not understand any other reason to ask this question unless he was simply trying to back me into a corner so I confess all my transgressions that I commited and decided to bring back while I was in Canada for 8 hours. Kind of got a kick out of it. I'm glad someone is trying to watch our borders closely. On the way in to Canada they asked why drive so far to get an exhaust. I told the guard and he said Ok, asked me some more detailed questions, but did not make me feel like I the subject of a psychological experiment in law enforcement and I was on my way. Different approach in my opinion. I wonder which one works better? Story aside, and to reiterate: No passport needed for land or sea travel, just need proof of citizenship and a picture ID
