I fortunately have no complaints. I love what i do, who i work for and the people I work with. But it was absolute bitch to get to the place i am now. I’m a software engineer but started off as an BA/SA after college. Pay was terrible (2008) hours, and people. In 2012 i signed on with my current employer. For 3 years i had to work my ass off as a SE1. 12-14 hr days, weekends, additional classes and most importantly out smart the people around me. Always doing the things no one else wanted to do. But the company and people here help with motivation along with the fact that i had personal goals. I’m now at a place where I’m in a senior role, great hours, access to amazing people who are nothing short of brilliant and i make 4x as much as i did in 2012. Ill never be satisfied with my career and will always set personal goals as well as monetary goals. I think people (younger imo) think they can walk in somewhere after college and feel as though they are owed the corner office with a 6 figure salary and have a nervous breakdown when they find out its going to take blood, sweat and tears to actually obtain that stuff. That piece of paper means dick imo and from what i have seen. Its just a ticket to the show. That’s all. OP make a change. Keep moving. I found the goals and self motivation are the biggest factor that has gotten me though tough times in the work place. Sent from my iPhone using svtperformance.com
