I tried installing my EBP25 pump thru the top thinking the same- just pull the top panel. You can see the pump, but it was impossible to get my pliers to clamp down on the clips so I could rotate enough and slide them off. You gotta spend the extra 20 minutes or so to get the front bumper off; the bottom panel was a pain since there's 20 bolts & screws [3-different sizes] to remove. Don't forget to have a bucket of fresh soapy car-wash stuff and towels or rags to wipe off xxx miles of grime & bugs while you have the bumper off. The OEM Bosch pump is the exact same for Lightning/Cobra/GT500 [07-12]; only the mounting brackets are different for each vehicle. I've got this exact EBP25 pump on both my Lightning & GT500; OE connector clicks right on to the EBP25 pump. But I ended up installing AFCO two-pass heat-exchangers w/o the fans at the same time [L & GT500].
