Similar here. I can average over 20 with 800whp on 91 octane with my 03 if I really intend to. By contrast, my regal gs averages 22-25mpg combined with only 270whp 4 banger but if I drive the cobra like I drive the Buick, I average 12-15mpg. If I drive the Buick like an economy car I get 25-30 average. Bottom line for me, it takes so much more effort to measure, report and keep gas mileage in mind than it does to work an extra project or two a year to buy all the gas I want and get from a to b way faster. Saving. $1500 a year or whateve isn’t worth it to me, I’ll flip an extra car or do a side gig and be fine driving how I want to when I like to. I do drive very reasonable when I’m not pressed for time or so on. The idea that it’s somehow immature to do so vs drive like an 80 year old grandma all the time is dumb to me because I save way more time getting from a to b a few lights quicker or a few hours less per week. I get a lot more done vs save $15 a week or whatever. Save $1500 in gas a year but spend 50 to 100 hours longer per year on the road, and unless you don’t have a side gig that you can pull $1500+ from within 50 hours, yer just jacking off with yer right hand to say its less a sin than jacking off with your left hand imo. Not grilling you, I know youre saying you can get good mileage driving it well which is a skill of its own, and I can too with similar results. How often do you find yourself driving as such? I’m 30 and super busy most of the time but when I’m relaxing, I cruise/coast and probably slow up traffic haha
