Autoextremist.com Reports GT Has 550 HP
If the hp figures which Ford just released are in fact wheel hp, then the GT is really a potent car. Here is the AE article:

The original estimates given to the media were 500HP @ 6,000 rpm and 500 lb.-ft. @ 4,500 rpm, so the new numbers compare more than favorably. That's great news for Ford enthusiasts and especially great news for the people who are confirmed to be taking delivery of the new mid-engined beast.
So, let's hope that the 550 figure is wheel hp as that would be (divided by .85) app 647 flywheel hp (and the torque would be 588).
