Boost leak?

Well, realistically both of those symptoms would indicate a boost leak. That being said, Factory tunes are known to be both quite rich, and soft on boost at times. The best way to test for a boost leak is to basically just do a boost leak test, just remove the intake and any breather lines off the charge pipes, and pressurize the system to ~20 psi or so and listen for leaks.

Thanks for the input guys. Turns out the charge pipe had blown off the car on a test drive before I took delivery and service "fixed" it. So I got with our most performance literate tech and told him the situation and that I'll take care of him if he figures it out, and he's gonna see if there's still a leak somewhere, or if it's an ecu issue left over from the pipe blowing off that a stock reflash might cure.
